“It’s a Miracle…”

Our reading today comes from Matthew, chapter 17:

This chapter today speaks for itself.  I have only one question for us all:

If we believe these incredible stories in the Bible, why is it so hard to believe when miracles happen today?  Are we looking for the providential hand of God in our daily lives?  Or have we allowed science, technology, and education to create a bubble around us that defines what is real?

The people of Nazareth didn’t see many miracles because they had little faith and weren’t looking for them.  What about us?

Heavenly Father,

You are the God of the Bible, the God of today, and the God of tomorrow.  Help me to live into the wonder of Your work in the world today.  Make my awareness of your supernatural presence grow.  Help my unbelief, and allow me to see the miracles that You are still providing.  Help me to know You as the God of Universe, Creator and Sustainer of all things.

In Jesus’ name I pray,

Amen
